Hey all
I Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas, day off, holiday season thing and that the end of 2011 went the way you wanted it to.
As this is the beginning of a new year Id like to share a mindset with you, as I feel many of you may actually be feeling the same way.
Last year for me was insane as I decided to go fulltime freelance, casting off my 9 to 5 safe job in lieu of something greater to answer The Call.
The Call
One of the most frightening things I ever did was leave the comfort of my steady job, It was a fun job mind you, retail at a very cool Anime and game store. But there comes a time in your life when you have to walk to the edge of uncertainty and ask yourself what next, what am I doing and what have I done?
Will I bail (wrong thinking) will I die (worse thinking) how fucking cool will it be if I land it ? (better thinking)
So my message to you today and my mantra this year will be
With 365 opportunities this year, what is the best thing that could happen to me?
This year ill embark on Drawing my ass off again as usual, Ill strive to better myself whenever the opportunity presents itself, I will fall I will fail but this is good, ill learn new things ill reach out and make a mess ill put aside my ego in favour of being a better creator and Ill listen to my inner voice my inner child and ill channel my creative energy. But no matter what ill always focus on landing the trick and believe in the possibilities because if you cannot believe in the possibilities you have already failed.
The way my year ended is with A full time job at a games dev studio, a great show at rage and one of my artworks in the Velocity Anthology, oh and a newly acquired wii o||o random I know
So to all you creatives out there
GO OUT AND KICK SOME ASS, DRAW SOME FUCKING AWESOME STUFF AND LETS BE BETTER THIS YEAR THAN LAST.
Oh yeah and I got an inkling its awesome, no sketch will be wasted ever again. even if it does suck
And Id like to throw a huge Shout Out to Damouse for the gracious donation of a premium membership I owe ya one and it was a pleasant surprise
